Project Worker
I have been working for the Learning Services now for over 4 years. Before joining the project I had worked at Hovis Wigan for 37 years, where I was a great advocate for learning in the workplace. I was the lead ULR here for over 10 years, providing many courses for my colleagues and friends, in Maths and English. With the help and support of the BFAWU Learning Services this was very successful in gaining the qualifications that they required. I also took charge of the learning for all the representatives on site and getting them paid release.
Working for the Learning Services, gives me a great sense of satisfaction. Giving people an incentive to learn and helping people to achieve their goals. Hearing their success stories gives me a great deal of pride in my job. I believe that this is one of the great benefits that the Union has to offer.
