Assessments are very important: before we can enrol you on an English, Maths or ICT course we need to know what level you are to put you on the right course.
The BFAWU Learning Services have 2 different ways to assess your levels of learning: The skillcheck is a quick and easy way for you to assess if you need to improve your skills for a course. Our providers then give you the BKSB assessment at enrolment as this is more robust. It will ensure you are enrolled on the right level, too low and you will be bored, too high and you may feel overwhelmed.
We use this to gauge your levels before enrolling you on an English or Maths course
On-line Skills Check – the TUC run a short on-line programme where you can check your level with ICT, Literacy, Maths, and Finances. This is good way to judge how you are doing and what you need to improve. https://www.unionlearn.org.uk/skillcheck remembering to put in BFAWU under union even if you are not in the union so it goes to our group, thank you.
BKSB (Basic and Key Skill Builder) – this can be on-line or paper based to assess what your English and Maths levels are. We used this to gauge your levels before enrolling you on an English or Maths course.
